The Book Discussion Forums are meant for 2 or more people to discuss a book back & forth, whereas the Book Review Forums are for people to just post their review of a book for others to read, without discussing it back & forth.
The Book Review Forum can have more than 1 review per book, done by different people, but subsequent reviews are to be kept independant from the previous review, and should not reference itself to the prior review in any way.
Those wanting to read a review can search the Book Review Forum by Title, Author or Subject. That way they can read independant reviews of a book, without having to read through all kinds posts, which may get a little off topic at times (hopefully not too much...we have the Just Between Friends Forum for off topic posts).
If we find that the Book Review Forum is used too much like a discussion board, we will have to move the ones that have become "discussions" to the discussion board. If it is abused in this way too much, we may have to discontinue the reviews, and just make it all discussions, but we really hope we won't have to do that.
We hope that you understand and will follow these guidelines so that it will be easy for those who just want a quick review of a book to be able to find one.
Note: I found out I can set a topic so that no one else can make a post to it, so an option I have for the book reviews is that once someone starts a "topic" to do a review on a particular book, and does the review, I can make it so that no one else can post to that same topic.
The drawback to this would be that if someone else wanted to do a review for the same book, they would have to start a whole new one versus just adding to that topic as an additional post. I'd appreciate some feedback on this. My concern about it all is people making the reviews area just like regular discussions, which is not what I want them to be.
